Preselection Round (DVD Auditions)
A recital not to exceed fifty minutes in length and consisting of the following works:
- Any Prelude and Fugue from the Well-Tempered Clavier by J.S. Bach.
- Four virtuosic etudes, one of which should be by F. Chopin, one by F. Liszt, and the other two by S. Rachmaninov and/or A. Scriabin.
- A sonata by J. Haydn, W.A. Mozart or L. van Beethoven.
- One or more compositions of the candidate’s choice.
Only complete works will be accepted.
Round I
A recital not to exceed fifty minutes in length and consisting of the following works:
- A sonata by J. Haydn, W.A. Mozart, L. van Beethoven or F. Schubert.
- Two or more contrasting works by P.I. Tchaikovsky.
- One or more compositions of the participant’s choice.
Only complete works will be accepted.
Round II
Phase I:
*The score of the composition written for the Competition for the piano, violin, and cello divisions will be submitted two month before the Competition. The composition does not need to be memorized.
